Our Mission:
To promote the implementation of proven public health practices and uniformity in the adoption and enforcement of food and drug safety and security laws, rules, and regulations.
The Northeast Food and Drug Officials Association (NEFDOA) will accomplish this mission through providing a forum for regulators, industry and other interested parties in the Northeast to discuss regional, national and international issues relative to the uniform promotion and provision of the most effective public health and consumer protection services possible, and by offering current and relevant training opportunities, annual educational conference(s), and information dissemination.
NEFDOA is a regional affiliate of the Association of Food and Drug Officials (AFDO) and represents the states of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island, and Vermont, the four Atlantic Canadian provinces of New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island and the province of Quebec. NEFDOA is comprised of federal, state, and local food, drug, and consumer protection officials, industry representatives, academia, and other persons interested in promoting uniformity on public health and consumer protection issues related to the regulation of foods, drugs, medical devices, and consumer products.
